It's not about "don't be afraid, there's nothing to be afraid of", it's "I know you're afraid, it means you have critical thinking skills (or trauma), and you're going for it anyway, that's real courage, that's real bravery" !

No fear at all when tackling something new, something potentially life changing, is not a sign of bravery nor a sign of courage, it's a sign of inconsciousness, stupidity or worse, psycho or sociopathy...

Be afraid, it's okay, it's normal, it means you have feelings, you have emotions and you acknowledge them; just don't let it interfere with your life changing decisions.
